Pentagonal Stone
I am told that prior to the clear cut logging by Game Commission contractors, there were also two market ready, complete stones at the quarry, but somehow these have been removed (Someone had to have access and heavy equipment to do this)  Too bad.

Though the purpose of the round and triangular stones is evident, there are also several pentagonal shaped ones.  What these were cut for is anyone guess.  Some have suggested that they may be meant as arch keystones, but no complete keystones are present, only pentagonal shaped ones.

The outcropping, on which Millstone Quarry is situated, extends some distance to the northeast from the main quarry site.  As the ridge of boulders submerges into the mountain, bedrock approaches the surface, causing a boggy area with a number of wetland species present.  Since there are no flowers or fruit at this time of year, we will have to wait till spring to identify many of them.
